The International Association of Hotel Appraisers, LLC (IAHA) brings together the world’s leading hotel appraisers to exchange ideas and enhance the hotel valuation methodology and procedures.
The IAHA offers educational seminars, conferences, courses, professional articles, and mentorships focused on hotel market analysis, financial projections, and valuations.
Membership is by invitation and is based on the quality of an individual’s hotel valuation work product, experience, ethical reputation, stature in the industry, and contribution to the profession. Members have the right to utilize the Member International Associate of Hotel Appraisers (MIAHA) designation.
The IAHA also offers two certifications:
- Certified Hotel Appraiser (CHA)
- Certified Hotel Valuer (CHV)
Obtaining these certifications requires the demonstration of proficiency in valuing hotels. Experienced hotel appraisers can become certified based on their past appraisal education and hotel valuation expertise and experience. New appraisers can take an online course- “How to Value a Hotel” developed and taught by Steve Rushmore, CHA, MAI.
Upon earning the certification, hotel appraisers will receive a certificate suitable for framing (via email). They may use your certification in their CVs, LinkedIn profile, and on the signature line of their appraisal reports. Their names will appear in a Directory of CHA and CHV members located at www.certifiedhotelappraiser.org. They will also become eligible to be considered for Membership in the International Association of Hotel Appraisers, LLC.
